If cold call, you’ve likely had somebody get frustrated with you because you didn’t “do your research”.

The best way to get around this actually quite simple.

Get off the call as soon as possible - and then call them back a few weeks later when you’ve “done your research”

99% of people will not remember your call. And if they do remember your call - you are prepared this time!

3 Super Simple Steps to Reduce No-shows

1. Schedule meetings for the afternoon

Gong analyzed the ideal meeting time and found that your prospects are 30% more likely to show up for a call at 4PM than one at 8AM. Afternoon meetings have higher attendance rates and they last longer.

2. Ask to send a text reminder

Email reminders can slip through the cracks, one easy way to confirm meeting attendance is to ask your prospect if you can send them a text message reminder on the day of the call. Some prospects don't mind - but be sure to ask for permission first - "Mind if I send you quick reminder text on the day of the call?"

3. Don't let meetings fall off the calendar

If a prospect lets you know they need to cancel a scheduled meeting and doesn't provide an alternative time, don't let it fall off the calendar. Move the call to a new time. Then message back and tell the prospect that you moved it to a new time - tell them if that time doesn't work to schedule a new time with the provided calendar.

Keep in mind that if the prospect doesn't show up to the call or select a new time, it's likely they aren't actually interested. You can keep them in a follow-up sequence but don't count on it happening.

Productivity Tip

Context switching kills productivity. Focus on one task at a time. Here's what this means:

🛑 Don't: Find a prospect, get their info, make a call, then send an email - That's a slow workflow. There are too many different tasks going on.

✅ Do: Find ALL of your prospects, then find ALL of their info, then make ALL your touch 1 calls, then send ALL of your touch 1 emails, etc.

Group your tasks into 1 action at a time.

And on top of that, if you put an away status on Slack and mute notifications when you're doing these tasks, you'll get through them faster.

Focus on 1 thing at a time. You'll get far more done, and do it better.

"My competitors have a page on their website where they list a bunch of their customers. I use this page to find relevant prospects.

I create several competitor sequences and find the decision makers from all of those companies and put them into a sequence.

I know my product is better than my competitors, I know what problems these customers may face, and I have a targeted/relevant message for everyone in that sequence.

I've often found that all because a company's logo is on your competitors website doesn't mean that they are happy with them. It's an easy way to build targeted lists."
